Protect Your Pet From Preventable Diseases at Sacramento Animal Hospital

When it comes to vaccinations, the old adage, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," could not be truer. However, each pet lives a unique lifestyle and his or her vaccines should fit those individual needs.
Just as in humans, preventing diseases and illnesses is far easier than treating them, which is why we suggest that all pets be vaccinated as required by their health, age, environment, and lifestyle. At Sacramento Animal Hospital, our team of veterinarians will carefully examine your pet to determine the necessary vaccinations and customize a vaccine schedule specifically for him or her.

Vaccinating your pet is integral to preventing serious illness and even death and helps to build your pet’s immunity against a number of dangerous diseases. Most vaccinations begin at your pet’s first wellness exam and require a schedule of doses throughout the first months and years of life. Some vaccinations, such as rabies, will be required throughout your pet’s entire life.
Please note that not all vaccines will be required for all pets and that the administering of some could even be potentially harmful if your pet has certain pre-existing illnesses or health problems. Prior to giving any vaccinations, we will conduct a physical examination and further testing may be recommended or required before vaccinating your pet.
In addition, we may recommend obtaining vaccine titers to determine your pet’s level of immunity and this may help guide us in our vaccine protocol. Please discuss this with your doctor at your pet’s next wellness exam!
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your pet’s vaccination needs, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to assisting you with all of your pet’s health needs.
